A UCI publicou hoje em sua página oficial uma nota em que suspende os atletas Alex Diniz e Otávio Bulgarelli por violações de doping. Segundo a nota, Alex estaria provisoriamente suspenso até que seja concluído um julgamento por alterações em seu passaporte biológico. No caso de Bulgarelli, o problema encontrado seria uma tentativa de manipulação de amostra.
Em 2009, Alex já havia sido suspenso depois de testar positivo por eritropoetina. O atleta competia na Funvic que viria a se tornar a Soul Brasil Cycling desde 2013. Já Bulgarelli entrou na equipe em 2014, tendo se aposentado das competições para se tornar auxiliar técnico da Soul Brasil Cycling no fim de 2016.
Ainda no ano passado, a equipe havia sido suspensa por 55 dias depois que três de seus atletas foram flagrados no doping. Com os novos casos, a nova suspensão da equipe poderá chegar a 12 meses. A UCI ainda vai remeter o problema ao Comissão Disciplinar que tomará a decisão.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that it has notified an Anti-Doping Rule Violation arising from an Adverse Passport Finding against the Brazilian rider Alex Correia Diniz.
In accordance with the UCI Anti-Doping Rules (ADR), the rider has been provisionally suspended until the adjudication of the affair.
The UCI was also informed that the Autoridade Brasileira de Controle de Dopagem asserted an Anti-Doping Rule Violation for Tampering against the Brazilian rider Otavio Bulgarelli.
For the purposes of article 7.12 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules, these constitute additional charges for members of the UCI Professional Continental Team Soul Brasil Pro Cycling (*) within a twelve-month period. Therefore article 7.12.3 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules providing for the suspension of the team from 15 days to 12 months will be applied.
The UCI will refer the matter to the Disciplinary Commission which will render a decision in due course.
At this stage of the procedure, the UCI will not comment any further on any of these matters.
